I am a great fan of Dr Tomotaka Takahashi. So excited to be able to see him in person =)

If you have not heard of Robi the robot, then it is time to google hard and fast on what you have been missing out!

Dr Tomotaka Takahashi, the creator of Robi, the world bestselling robot, has made his way down to Singapore to share his perspective of how robots will play a part of our lives in the near future.

Robots has captured human's imagination for hundred of years been a golden staple in science fiction. Over the years we have poured endless amount of time and money developing humanoid robots with AI that move, react and response like an human. But when will this reality cross over from the labs into our lives?

The internet in the greatest revolution of our era and its success signals a significant leap in the gathering of data for AI.

Also the shift towards Internet of Things (IoT) and smart objects means that previously 'dumb' physical objects in our world can tap into the digital universe.

When remotely triggered, they are able to alter their functionality or behavior to better serve its purpose.

With the increased connectivity in our era, how are we able to manage all the data that pass through our lives?

Dr Takahashi explains that Robots will be the key bridge between human to machine interaction.

As an expert in robotics, he has created ingeniously simplified humanoid robots in many forms, stretching limits of robotics with successful Guinness world of records attempts. A few of such are are Panasonic's 24hr cycling Robo Marathon, and also Grand Canyon climber Robo.

Both impressive feats are only powered by double AA batteries. Amazing!
